JANUARY IS GOD’S GIFT TO US.

 

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On January 4th and 5th, we honor these two American saints whose efforts to promote

Catholic education bore much fruit in our country.

 

 



 

On Sunday, January 6th, we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord.

The Savior is revealed to the nations, represented by the 3 Magi from the east.

They bring gifts to the newborn king – gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Please join us for Mass.

 

 

All through the month of January, we are collecting non-perishable food to stock our Food Pantry,

for distribution to the needy on Wednesday, January 30, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Please join us in this corporal work of mercy.

 

 

 

The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord by John the Baptist is celebrated on Sunday, January 13th.

It is the last celebration of the Christmas season.

Masses for the feast follow our regular Sunday schedule. All are welcome.

 

 

 

 

On Monday, January 21, the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,

the civil rights leader, is remembered.

We should all pray and work for racial equality and peace among all peoples.

The parish office is closed on this day.

 

 

 

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins on Friday, January 18th

and concludes on Friday, January 25th, the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle.

 

On Tuesday, January 22nd,

we observe a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children in the United States.

Catholics, and other like-minded persons who cherish human life, have been observing this day of prayer

and action since the US Supreme Court handed down its decision in the Roe vs Wade case in 1973.

WORLD YOUTH DAY

begins today, Tuesday, January 22nd, and continues through Sunday, January 27th in Panama City,

Panama. Please pray for the youth and adults who are participating from all

over the world – including those from our own diocese.

On Sunday, January 27th,

the parish is conducting its next Blood Donation Drive.
